Saw stuffed cabbage rolls featured on a TV program the other day and got an irresistible urge to make them — so I did.
Enormous stuffed cabbage rolls.
This time I made everything from scratch with no instant or packaged shortcuts.
Each roll is stuffed with about as much meat as one hamburger patty. Two of them and you’re completely full.
I simmered them for over an hour, so the meat juices blended with the consommé broth and soaked back into the cabbage — absolutely delicious.
Made four in total and have two left. Deliberately saving those for the next day — fully expecting the extra time to deepen the flavor.
Writing about this is making me drool… (sweating)
