Today I went to Nihon Kogakuin Professional School in Kamata for a visit — Kamiya Akira was making an appearance.

I hadn’t known this, but apparently Kamiya-san is a lecturer at Nihon Kogakuin.
He performed the “Kinnikuman Go Fight” theme song.
For reference: Kamiya-san is the one in the orange outfit on the far right. The people behind him appear to be current or graduated students of the school.
The staging, sound setup, and all technical production was handled by the students themselves.
(It’s literally their specialty.)
First time I’d encountered a celebrity since coming to Tokyo. Over a year in before it finally happened.
The woman on the left is Inoue Kaori — apparently a children’s song singer. She had a beautiful voice.
This world is completely different from the one I live in every day. A good kind of stimulation.
The demands of putting yourself in front of an audience. The young people who aim for it. The veterans who support them.
A performance that reminded me of what it means to be a professional.
