Hello, I’m Kei, the admin of h.keikun.info.
I usually spend my time configuring servers and tinkering with all sorts of things, but every now and then I need a break.
I had been keeping a diary for a long time — right here. That’s right, isn’t it?
This might sound like an excuse, but updating a diary is a lot of work, and it’s one-way communication.
One of my friends even told me that calling a diary on my top page a “blog” was embarrassing.
But today, I finally managed to set up a proper blog — so from now on, I can walk up to that friend with my head held high!
All’s well that ends well.
So, this blog will be a casual diary of sorts (in Nagoya dialect) where I write about everyday events and reviews of things. No pressure. There will probably be plenty of grammatically awkward Japanese, but I hope you’ll bear with me.
Speaking of reviews, I’m currently challenging the Suntory Oolong Tea iPod mini giveaway campaign. HP
The deal is: buy a bottle of Suntory Oolong Tea (500ml PET bottle) and you get one serial number printed on the label. Enter that serial number online and it adds to your points. Once you hit 10 points, you face off against a panda in a penalty kick — score and you win an iPod mini. Miss, and from your second attempt onward, you can try again every 2 points.
The campaign runs from around May 20th to around August 20th, I think? Either way, there’s at least another two months to go.
So right now, I’m living the oolong tea life every single day.
I’ve accumulated 18 points and tried 4 penalty kicks so far, but I just can’t seem to hit it.
I could go all-in and buy a whole case, but the thought of having nothing but oolong tea left if I miss makes it feel pointless. So I’m sticking to my plan: one bottle a day instead of a regular drink.
That was a rambling introduction, but that’s the kind of blog this is going to be.
I hope you’ll stick around!
By the way, I’ve heard the odds of winning the oolong tea campaign don’t change whether you’re at 10 points or 100 — it’s purely luck. Apparently there are 10,000 prizes, so the odds might be slightly in our favor?
