FreeBSD

The other day, my seminar professor casually said,
“Why don’t you try FreeBSD instead of being so fixated on Linux?”
Just one line.
So I looked into it a bit. Found this site:
http://www.h4.dion.ne.jp/~katsuwo/index.html

FreeBSD installs in text mode, and this site has documented the entire installation process in HTML. I was amazed — I thought they were screenshots at first.
So you can actually select and copy the text. I have to say, that takes some serious dedication.

Recently I replaced my server and now have a machine I can use as an experimental rig, so maybe I’ll give it a try when I have some time…

That said, I get the feeling it’s not that different from Linux. Or maybe I’m wrong about that.
