First baseball game since moving to Tokyo.
I’m from Nagoya, so technically a Dragons fan. That meant the visiting left-field stands.
Dome stadiums are the norm these days, so outdoor parks like this feel rare.
Reminded me of Nagoya Stadium — the old Dragons home before Nagoya Dome.
One thing that struck me: the low outfield fence. Instead of the elevated view you get at Nagoya Dome, you’re almost at eye level with the players. Being used to domes, that felt genuinely unusual.
The game ended 4–3, Dragons losing. Disappointing.
What surprised me was how many people had made the trip from Nagoya to cheer.
Some were saying things like “hurry up and finish” — apparently worried about catching the last Shinkansen home.
As a result, the left-field stands were almost entirely Dragons fans.
Right field is the Swallows’ home section, of course, but the rest of the infield seats had very visible empty patches. Swallows are in 4th place right now, and with the season winding down, maybe that’s just how it goes.
All in all, this three-day weekend was full — a BBQ among other things — and genuinely fun.
Back to businessman mode tomorrow.
