I just discovered — two years after graduating — that my alma mater Meijo University has a community site (what people are now calling a “school underground board”).
Its name: “Meijo Channel”
Message boards covering every department, with detailed information down to individual lab level.
Everything from professor backgrounds to lab atmosphere — it’s all there.
Unlike the notorious “school underground sites” talked about in junior high contexts, this one is used by people in their early twenties — and there seem to be proper standards in place to prevent harassment and defamatory content.
Posts that get deleted show up as “aboon” (2channel board slang for “removed”) — I’m incredibly curious what the original deleted posts actually said.
If I’d known about this while I was still a student, I could have used it so much more… there’s a small pang of regret.
Tips on where to buy cheap textbooks, lunch spots near campus… ah well.
