Snow Snow Snow

This is the snow that fell on December 19 last year.
This is Nishiki-dori in Nagoya — normally packed with cars, but here it’s completely empty.
Total accumulation: 23 cm. As far as I know, the heaviest snowfall I can recall.

Though apparently the maximum recorded snowfall in Nagoya’s history is 49 cm — so this is still only half the record.
That’s impressive.

My winter tires really earned their keep in this snow.
Car shops had completely sold out of snow tires and couldn’t even take orders — that’s how serious it was.
It really was extraordinary snow.
