Bought a few things today:
· Willson Ultra-Fine Compound
· Amon Interior Super Strong Double-Sided Tape
· Carmate Pro’s Wax Royal Bright
Total around ¥3,000.
The ultra-fine compound was for resetting the fine scratches that had become more visible on the car. The double-sided tape was because the tape I’d used on the power socket splitter had given up (actually couldn’t handle the heat), so I switched to a car-grade version.
The most interesting purchase today: the wax.
Normal car wax is “half-paste” type — pre-softened to make application easier. This one is “solid” type — harder to apply but longer lasting. I have a car polisher at home, so I figured it would be manageable. Shouldn’t be too much effort with that.
That said, this wax is quite premium. Standard products run 250g for around ¥1,200, while this is 100g for ¥1,800.
If it takes too long to use up, the wax degrades; the small quantity is fine but the price is steep. Hopefully it lasts longer to justify it.
My car is a 2001 Corolla Allex in black, so if I nail the compound and wax work, I’m hoping to get it back to something close to new-car shine.
