Today I took the bike out further than usual — out of shape and needing something to do.
Today’s route: red is the outbound leg, green is the return. About 10 km each way, 19 km total.
I’d originally planned to go to Odaiba via a tunnel to the southwest. Turns out that’s expressway only. The detour was too much, so I gave up partway through.
Took some photos along the way.
First: Rainbow Bridge, the furthest point I reached.
Someday I will cross this bridge by bike — I made that promise to myself.
Getting to Odaiba would require committing to about 15 km each way though.
Turning back from here, I went to explore near Shinagawa Station.
This is the Docomo building.
Massive. That’s Docomo for you. My company doesn’t have buildings like this. Then I noticed the Sony building right next to it.
Enormous.
I’d love to work in an office like that someday. The salary must be something. The thought crossed my mind while taking photos — which is exactly how someone from a small town acts in the big city.
And then, looking up at the sky.
Something was floating up there.
A blimp. Of course.
Tokyo really does have everything.
Next time I’m crossing Rainbow Bridge. For real.
And a little extra effort with dinner for a change of pace:
Stuffed bell peppers and clam miso soup.
Back to work tomorrow.
