◆Day 1 (December 28)◆
On Day 1, there were fewer attendees compared to Day 2, so I was able to move around to various places quite frequently.
・Nothing’s Carved In Stone @ GALAXY STAGE (first half)
・Flower Companies @ COSMO STAGE (second half)
・miwa @ MOON STAGE
・Dezille Brothers @ MOON STAGE (first half)
→First public performance.
・Perfume @ EARTH STAGE
→This time, I was satisfied to hear ‘puppy love’, which they performed at RIJF2009.
・Superfly @ EARTH STAGE
→Exceptional singing ability. I was intoxicated by their singing.
・ZAZEN BOYS @ GALAXY STAGE
→First time seeing them. The drumming was impressive. The three of them were in sync, and it was interesting.
◆Day 2 (December 29)◆
On Day 2, there were about 1.5 times more people than on Day 1 (though I don’t think it was as much as Day 3 or later), so it took more time to move around. Still, I went to see many acts.
・SEAMO @ COSMO STAGE
・Pay money To my Pain @ COSMO STAGE
→Intense mosh pit. After the show, the vocalist high-fived the audience and was then led away by security.
・Sukima Switch @ GALAXY STAGE
・WEAVER @ COSMO STAGE
・Chatmonchy @ EARTH STAGE
→Their loose MC was memorable. Female bands are impressive though.
・Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra @ EARTH STAGE
→Besides my festival friends, I danced tirelessly with a person from the ‘Circle Alliance’ who dearly loves the area behind the PA.
I danced more this year than ever before.
・9mm Parabellum Bullet @ EARTH STAGE
→Since it was the last act, I was listening idly when a giant mosh circle formed.
I ended up joining in.
☆☆☆ Thoughts and Impressions ☆☆☆
・First and foremost, I made more music friends through festivals since summer. Getting excited and immersed in music together is the best. Thank you, everyone.
・Having everyone there was helpful, as I also got information about the venue that I didn’t know.
・I want to re-evaluate the balance between returning home and attending festivals. Next year, I definitely want to spend the New Year in Makuhari!
・Reflecting on RIJF2010 in the summer, this time I bought tickets in the first pre-sale for the first time. Since it wasn’t a lottery, I was able to buy them smoothly. I want to do that again next time.
Oh, by the way,
What about this year’s festivals?
There seem to be others like in Kyoto, but I’ve gathered only the ones I’m interested in.
How I spend Golden Week might be the key.
3/19.20 GO!FES@Makuhari
→First held last spring. Autumn was canceled. It’s the second time, but the lineup is almost exactly the same.
Probably won’t go?
4/29,30 ARABAKI@Sendai
→Oh no. Last year’s information has been deleted from the website..
The birthplace of my music friends, it’s far away and during Golden Week, but I’d like to go if I can.
5/3-5 JAPAN JAM2011@Makuhari
→A big change from last year’s Fuji Speedway.
There’s a discussion about it no longer being an outdoor festival.
Sessions are its selling point, will this year have the same lineup as last year?
Late May? ROCKS TOKYO @ ?
8/5-7 RIJF 2011 @ Hitachinaka
→This year, I’ll buy a three-day pass in advance.
And I need to book Toyoko Inn on 3/5!
8/13,14 Summer Sonic 2011 @ Makuhari
