Class of 2006 Job Offer Rate

« Previous Next »

I went through the job search process twice — once in my fourth year of university, and again this year in my second year of grad school.
As the graph shows clearly, two years ago was the toughest job market for graduates in recent memory.
I already have an offer, but during my search I could clearly feel that it was easier to get offers than it had been two years earlier.

There was a time when I wasn’t sure whether to continue to graduate school. One of the reasons I did was the calculation that “two years from now, I’ll be able to aim for a better company.” Seeing it confirmed in the numbers like this makes me feel the choice was right.
