“Please! Can you cover starting at 5!!”
…Hmm. Impossible, I thought — but couldn’t say no, so I agreed to be a bit late.
Took the expressway for a route that normally takes 40 minutes by regular roads.
4:38 — left the house
4:42 — on the expressway
4:50 — off the expressway
4:55 — arrived at work
About 10 km each way, and somehow made it.
Around 6 the person who was originally scheduled showed up, and the handoff was complete.
I normally build in plenty of buffer time, so I genuinely surprised myself — turns out you can cut it that close and still make it.
