Did some camera practice at home.
Set up “I LOHAS,” “Aquarius,” and “Soflan” at different distances, like this:

Wanted to see what kinds of photos I could get.
Environment: standard fluorescent lighting.
Camera: the EOS Kiss X3 I just bought. (The setup photo itself was taken with the IXY.)
<Practicing background blur at different aperture values>

■ Aperture F 9
You can clearly see that a smaller aperture value produces more background blur.
I see. Interesting.
For comparison, shooting the same setup with the compact camera (IXY DIGITAL 10) resulted in the photo below — underexposed. The DSLR is genuinely impressive.
