A Wander Through Chinatown and Minato Mirai

Work has calmed down enough that I headed out to Chinatown for some dan dan noodles.

I happened to stop at this restaurant on a middle school field trip once.

Back then the 950 yen dan dan set felt expensive to me, so I remember just ordering the noodles alone.

But the noodles were so good that I’ve been back about three times since.

This visit was a Saturday evening, but it wasn’t busy at all — a relaxed meal. Chinatown at night might be more of a hidden gem than you’d think. The lunch crowd is absolutely packed.

Afterward I went up Landmark Tower too.

It had been a clear winter night for the first time in a while, so the air was crisp — felt like a good opportunity for some night photography.

There’s illumination inside the observation deck that made shooting tricky — some of it is reflected in the window.

In the second photo, Yokohama Station is in the center.

A different character from Roppongi Hills. The residential areas are darker, with just the right amount of light — it gave off this impression of a jewelry box opened up, or a reverse planetarium.

It would be nice if you could go up to the rooftop.
