FACTORY, a Fuji TV underground music program, apparently holds a special event once a year timed with Odaiba Kuni — that’s LIVE FACTORY.
A friend invited me and I went for the first time.
The lineup, in order of appearance:
· Dohatsu-ten
· YOUR SONG IS GOOD
· SPECIAL OTHERS
· the telephones
· LOW IQ 01 & MASTER LOW
(MCs: Ryuta Sato, Yumi Yoshimura)
I’d seen the telephones once before at ROCKS TOKYO in late April, so this was my second time with them. Everyone else was new to me.
The venue was Zepp Tokyo — a live house format, so the artists were much closer than at a festival.
And with more freedom in the space, the moshing was intense and crowd surfing broke out too. (Apparently that’s an instant ejection at Rockin’.)
Joined a mosh circle, toasted with people around me, and spent the day completely immersed in music.
In a way, this might have been the warm-up run for Rockin’.
This summer is shaping up to be something — in the literal sense too, since Tokyo apparently hit 36°C today.
