Good evening.
I’ll introduce what I’ve been eating for dinner during work shifts lately.
Ideally I’d bring a homemade bento box, but that doesn’t always work out — there were phases of going to Matsuya every day, or living on nothing but instant curry. These days I try to think about nutritional balance and buy a proper bento.
This is the bento from the 99 Yen Shop.
“Tatage (fried chicken) & hamburger steak bento”
This much food for ¥399. Compare that to a convenience store nori bento at around ¥430 — quite reasonable.
I add a cup of Sato no Gohan microwave rice to make it a full meal.
Pretty satisfying.
Another shift dinner option: Matsuya’s “A Combo” at ¥490 with unlimited rice refills.
Since Miyamoto Munashi opened in Nagoya recently, Matsuya now also does unlimited rice. So you can eat until you’re actually full.
The real question is whether you can eat for under ¥500. That seems to be the dividing line.
Anyway, this is getting complicated — I’ll leave it there for now.
